HULU KELANG |Tuesday, 30 August 2022. Yayasan Ammirul Ummah, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), today launched its latest series of welfare programmes for the development and prosperity of Islam in Malaysia and regional countries.

The launch ceremony took place at the P Ramlee Mini Cinema, National Film Development Corporation of Malaysia (FINAS) Complex, Hulu Klang, simultaneously with the screening of the short film Aidil & Atok directed by Fauziah Dato' Ahmad Daud. It was officiated by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FINAS, YBrs Prof Dr. Md Nasir Ibrahim; Director of Yayasan Ammirul Ummah, Encik Mohd Kamal Ismail and CEO of Fatijja, Encik Ibrahim Ridhwan Ismail.

Mr. Kamal said that Yayasan Ammirul Ummah was established on 22 April 2001 and has carried out various charity programs to help the Muslim community in Malaysia and abroad.

"It includes programs in the form of humanitarian missions, socio-economic development and health. This also includes Al-Quran and mosque endowments, food assistance for the asnaf and Gaza residents, flood victims, preventing the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, sacrificial rituals and akikah," he said.

Regarding the short film Aidil & Atok, Mr Kamal said that it was produced to support their efforts in reaching out to the community through art and social media.

"Aidil & Atok instills elements of love in families and the formation of pure morals from an early age. Mosque endowment is a form of share in the hereafter and this good practice does not necessarily involve a lot of money. Anyone can make an endowment and donate as sincerely as they can because the rewards are very great.
"This short film features excellent performances by Zaidi Omar, Adik Aiman Badrul and Alexander Zulkarnain. It can now be watched on the Fatijja TV YouTube Channel," he explained.

At the event, Fauziah was also introduced as the Premier Volunteer for Yayasan Ammirul Ummah. Apart from Aidil & Atok, she has also directed another short film titled Iqra' – Bacalah mengenai waqf Al-Quran.

The Foundation also announced a new 13-episode talk show titled Suara Hati which will be hosted by Fauziah with Ustaz Firdaus Wong for broadcast on Fatijja TV around September.
