Yayasan Ammirul Ummah (YAU), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) founded in Terengganu, today launched the 10,000 Quran Manuscript Endowment Programme to further enhance Islamic development in the Southeast Asian region.
The program was launched by YAU Managing Director, Ibrahim Ridhwan Ismail and YAU premier volunteer, artist Fauziah Ahmad Daud, at the Al Hidayah Mosque, Taman Melawati, Hulu Klang.
Also present were many famous personalities such as Kismah Johar, S Atan, Sandakiah Aziz, Aiman Badrul and Zaidi Omar.
Waqf to West Java, Indonesia
Ibrahim said that all 10,000 copies of the Quran with translations will be donated to West Java, Indonesia. This will complete the total of 50,000 copies donated to various parties for the year 2022.
"Last year (2021), we endowed 135,000 Al-Qurans to Muslims in Indonesia, such as in Lombok, North Sulawesi, Bali, West Papua, Maluku and Riau," he explained.

He said that all welfare programs carried out or participated in by YAU are through donations from individuals and corporate bodies.
YAU, which was established on 22 April 2001, has carried out various charity programmes to help the Muslim community in Malaysia and abroad.
Humanitarian, socio-economic programs
It encompasses humanitarian, socio-economic and health development programmes. These include Quranic endowments, mosque endowments, natural disaster relief, food basket donations for the poor and needy students, and wheelchair donations for the Disabled (OKU).
Ibrahim further said that to date YAU has built four mosques in Indonesia and maintained many mosques around Terengganu in terms of toilet facilities.
"A total of six mosques have been completed in Indonesia, namely the Al Ma'mun Mosque in Garut, the Nurul Jihad Mosque (Lombok), the Darussalam Mosque (Jakarta), the Al Ikhlas Mosque (Tasik Malaya), the Az Zikri Mosque (Medan) and the Darul Ibtida Mosque (Serang).
"Other mosques being built are Al Mukarramah Mosque in Buton, Miftahul Jannah Mosque (Donggola), Nurul Mujahidin Mosque (Luwu) and Miftahussudur Mosque (Nusa Tenggara).
"The cost of building a mosque in Indonesia is around RM300,000, but in Malaysia the cost is twice as high. So we are more focused on maintaining mosques in our country, especially in Terengganu," he explained, who also distributed food baskets to Palestinians, Sri Lankans, and Malaysia itself.
Today's ceremony also organized a Dhuha Lecture by PU Syed Mohd. Bakri Syed Ishak who came out to share useful knowledge about the practice of giving charity to the attendees.
